Black History Season

Date : Saturday 25th of October 2014

We had a fantastic turn out this year and are still getting amazing feedback!

A massive thank you to the Yaa Asantewaa Centre for allowing us to use the space and be surrounded by such amazing carnival artwork and sculptures.

We started the night with a talk/discussion with genealogist Sharon Tomlin who gave advice for finding out more about your ancestry and background. With her knowledge and help many were abel to trace their family back over 200 years. What a fascinating insight!

Next, was our quiz where many unleashed their competitive sides! From popular culture to facts and figure, music making to dance the crowd had a lot of fun whilst learning more about black history and culture. Our winning team Lethal went away with goodies and prizes and said they'd "had so much fun!"

We hope you can join us at our next Black History Season event with more fun facts, team work, and most importantly, fundraising!
