Greenford and Acton Fair 2011

Committee members of The Sunshine Foundation attended the Greenford carnival on 2nd July and Acton on 9th July 2011 to raise awareness of special needs in Grenada and here in the UK by supporting Ealing Mencap Independent Travel Training.

Both events were very well attended and generated lots of interest from the general public.  At Greenford the committee members sold books which were generously donated by the local community raising funds of £74.17.

Both events were sponsored by Sainsbury’s Ladbroke Grove and Big Yellow Storage in Southall. Our tombola at the Acton carnival was well stocked with wonderful items donated by Sainsbury’s such as picnic plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, toys and other household items, as a result we raised £100.

Being present at both carnivals allowed us to also tell the community of our ‘Sunshine in a Box’ appeal which we have been running for the past two years.  Our aim is to support our special children in Grenada with more than 200 beautifully wrapped gifts this Christmas.  If you would like to help us meet our target, please contact us by email at info@thesunshinefoundation.co.uk
